Hide the public data of the contacts associated with your domain name with the Private Registration/Private Whois option.
The Private Whois service hides the contact details associated with your domain names in the Whois, and in particular reduces advertising solicitations, spam, tele-marketing and identity theft attempts.
Private Whois option: all public data is hidden (holder, address, email, telephone, etc.).
It is possible to subscribe to this private registration option at any time, when registering your domain name or afterwards.
To enable/disable the Private Whois option for a domain:
- Select your domain (Domains > Portfolio),
- Right-click on the domain and click "Edit" or select the names and click on "Edit Selected Domains" > "Edit Domain Details",
- In the "Contact handles" section, select "Yes" (enable) or "No" (disable) from the "Whois Privacy" drop-down menu,
- Click "Save".
If you choose to enable/disable Private Whois, it will automatically add a service to be validated in your shopping cart in both cases. In the case of deactivation, the confidentiality of your contact information will be lifted (only for legal entities, for natural persons the contact information is always hidden, the option is not necessary).
The cost of this service depends on the top-level extension of your domain (.com, .org, .fr, .ca, etc.).
The activation/deactivation of the Private Whois option must be accompanied by a paid service of change of holder, which will be automatically applied per domain, which is essential to display the new replacement contact details. The cost of this service depends on the top-level extension of your domain (.com, .org, .fr, .ca, etc.).
The registrant can only be contacted via our encrypted email address. Postal mail sent to the physical mailing address will be rejected or destroyed, callers will be redirected to this page:
- Email & phone number hidden: your phone number will be replaced by ours, callers will be redirected to this WHOIS Proxy page, and your email address will be replaced by one of our aliases that will resend you messages received by email.
- Alternate mailing address: Postal mail will be rejected or destroyed. Postal mail is not accepted and will be automatically rejected or destroyed.
- Available for most extensions: The Private Whois service is available for most extensions, and can be associated with the domain name during the registration process or after.
- Opt-out at any time: If you want your contact information to appear again in the Whois database, you will be able to disable the private Whois service by simply changing the field as indicated above to the "No" value: "Whois Data Privacy: No".
